Corporate One’s card solutions feature state-of-the-art fraud mitigation tools that are proven to minimize fraud through early detection. Additionally, enhanced security for cardholders and issuers through special processes also protect against mail fraud, detect and deter internal fraud and ensure the security of online transactions. As such, your credit union can effectively minimize card fraud, while protecting and limiting your cardholders and credit union from fraud-related expenses.

Falcon Fraud Predictor®

Falcon is a neural network-based fraud detection technology that monitors all signature and PIN authorizations by “learning” your individual cardholder behaviors. Each card authorization is analyzed using a database that contains profiles of merchants and cardholder behavior. Any fraudulent activity automatically updates the database, so that fraudulent attempts can be immediately detected, and both current and future attempts can be prevented. A dedicated staff at the Falcon Fraud Detection Work Center reviews each suspicious transaction, reviews the cardholder account and calls the cardholder if necessary. Best of all, Falcon’s neural technology produces tangible results, experiencing far less fraud — nearly half the amount — as the industry average, as indicated in the chart below:

Footprints®

The Footprints technology gives credit unions the power to research any potential misuse of card and cardholder information by employees granted access to STAR Station, where the information is housed. The system tracks operator access made at the credit union as well as at Corporate One, PSCU Financial Services and First Data. Transaction reporting history, either by User ID or cardholder, is available for 120 days.

Card Activation, Mail Integration and Address Verification Service (AVS)

Cards sent from the processing center are integrated with other non-card mail to eliminate easy recognition and reducing the potential for plastics to fall into the wrong hands. All new cards feature a sticker prompting the cardholder to call a toll-free activation line for verification of receipt and approval to use the new cards. And, each time the card is used, AVS verifies the cardholder’s billing address before completing the transaction, effectively reducing fraudulent online, telephone and mail-related transactions.

Card Expiration and Authorizing Name Matching

Both of these verification processes reduce fraudulent POS, mail and telephone transactions by verifying the authorized cardholder’s name on the account record and the cardholder’s expiration date on file against the authorization request.

Verified by Visa/MasterCard® SecureCode™

For safer online purchases, cardholders can participate in “Verified by Visa” or MasterCard’s SecureCode. Both of these programs work similarly, allowing cardholders to actively participate in protecting their cards from fraud by enrolling in the relevant program, which establishes a unique identifier, either a password and/or code that is then used to provide additional authentication in real-time when making online purchases at participating online stores. Complete resources are available for credit unions opting to market this option to their members.

CardLock®

People lock their homes and cars to keep them safe and secure. Now, they can lock their credit and debit cards for the same reason. Imagine the peace of mind your cardholders will enjoy when they apply another level of security to their accounts to supplement the protection your credit union provides.

CardLock is an extra feature credit unions can choose to add to their ATM/debit or credit card solutions that puts fraud prevention in the cardholder’s hands. With CardLock, cardholders can block and unblock authorizations to their account anytime, anywhere. Once enrolled, cardholders can easily block and unblock transactions from occurring on their card with a quick phone call to the automated system or a visit to the secure Web site. Best of all, CardLock is fully integrated with Falcon Fraud detection monitoring, so if an authorization is attempted on an account locked by CardLock, the Falcon system documents the attempt and also generates an outbound call to notify the cardholder of the unauthorized transaction attempt.
