Reminder: Wire Packets Due August 15
Last month, Corporate One announced it would be upgrading its wire transfer system for both domestic and international wires in the 4th quarter of 2011. In preparation of the transition, we mailed announcement letters to members utilizing these services that included packets, similar to our annual wire audit packets, which incorporated a roster of users (their respective CTR and BTR authorization/verification limits and if that user currently had a security token or not). Members were asked to verify, add or delete users and provide new limits for each user being authorized for the new system as defined on the form, as the new system does not distinguish between CTR and BTR wires. For more than five years, Corporate One has been offering free trainings to help our member credit unions fulfill their annual BSA/OFAC training requirement. Direct Deposit Study Reveals Prospect in Small Businesses
A recent study by the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA), also known as The Electronic Payments Association, revealed that businesses and employees are not fully utilizing the electronic paycheck service commonly known as direct deposit. The study suggests potential for credit unions to grow in the area of electronic transactions as direct deposit serves as a safer and more convenient alternative to receiving a paycheck. Corporate One CEO Serves on Primary Financial Board of Directors
Lee Butke, president/CEO of Corporate One, currently serves on the Primary Financial Board of Directors. This year, Butke was newly appointed the vice-chair position, continuing his eight years of experience on the board. Primary Financial Company LLC, is a credit union service organization (CUSO) started by Corporate One and is currently jointly owned all by corporate credit unions, including Corporate One. Ohio CU Foundation Classic - "Golfing to Give Back"
 Corporate One will be one of the participant sponsors for The Ohio Credit Union Foundation Classic golf event scheduled for Monday, August 15th, 2011 at Foxfire Golf Club, located south of Columbus. The Ohio CU Foundation has proudly been a philanthropic sector of the Ohio Credit Union League for over ten years. With hopes of raising $25,000 at the event this year, the money will be put forth to support financial education and outreach initiatives that promote financial independence through credit unions. Make a Difference with Miracle Jeans Day 2011
 Credit Unions across the nation will be participating in Miracle Jeans Day on September 14, 2011 to support the Children's Miracle Network Hospital.
Credit Unions for Kids is the brand under which the credit union community fundraises for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, a non-profit organization working to improve the lives of children. As of 2011, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4.3 billion through fundraising efforts and donations. READ MORE + |

|
The drumbeat of gloomy developments reverberated through the U.S. as well the global financial markets throughout the spring. As was the case last year, the Greek debt crisis was again a disruptive catalyst, but it was not the only event behind the heightened anxiety level of households and investors. A litany of homegrown stressful events are also making their presence felt, spanning the political, policy and economic spheres.
