From the CEO: What was new in 2015?

Dear Members:

January 8, 2016 -- ‘Tis the season to be jolly, and here at Corporate One we are definitely merry about all the great things we have accomplished this year. While we are already looking forward to what we’ll be doing for you in 2016, I want to take a moment to review the great progress we made this year.

Expanded product offerings: To help our members succeed in acquiring and onboarding new members and to help in managing your cash more effectively

Innovative mobile/digital offerings

Many of our biggest accomplishments in 2015 involved introducing new solutions designed to specifically address challenges in the current market. With the creation of our new member acquisition experience (MAX) product line, an innovative suite of digital onboarding solutions, our goal is to help your credit union successfully grow your membership by optimizing and streamlining the account-opening process.

The two digital solutions within MAX, Gro Account Opening and ClickSWITCH, are state-of-the-art technologies that have already generated interest from several of our members. I’m excited that we can offer these platforms to help you stay relevant and competitive. If you haven’t yet seen my previous announcements about Gro and ClickSWITCH, you can read them in my October and November articles.

New cash management solutions

This past summer, I was delighted to announce Corporate One was turning cash management on its ear with the introduction of The One Account. With The One Account, members have access to a full, integrated suite of cash management tools with convenient overnight investment options, which (we hope) makes Corporate One the only place you'll need or want for effective cash management.

The One Account offering also features EZ Sweep, a brand-new, automated, overnight cash management option. We believe one of the ways we provide the most value to our members is when we make it easy to do business with us, and with EZ Sweep’s automated features, we are fulfilling that mission for you.

Enhanced engagement and educational opportunities: To keep us in touch with you and to help you succeed by providing key education and training opportunities

Member engagement

Some of our most fulfilling work came from enhancing our engagement and educational opportunities for you. We enjoyed visiting many of you in person, providing you with a busy schedule of webinars and live events in 2015. We boosted representation in your communities with more credit union and/or credit union chapter visits. We also offered 30 live training opportunities and attended more than 30 in-person, corporate event engagements.

Among these in-person events were our brand new Member Connect Summits, featuring beautiful venues, informative agendas, and stellar speakers who addressed hot issues facing your credit union today. These summits were more than just networking and educational opportunities; I very much enjoyed hosting and attending each of these events and having the chance to talk with you and your board volunteers on a more personal level. We plan on hosting more member engagement events like these in 2016 so we can continue to offer support and guidance and just a good time of interaction with each other. So, stay tuned!

Thought leadership

To make sure you were well-informed on the issues that would (and will) impact your credit union, we also spent a large part of 2015 helping prepare you for upcoming changes in the marketplace, namely with EMV and Same Day ACH. For both EMV and Same Day ACH, we held quarterly live webinars with our strategic cards partner PSCU and our knowledgeable, ACH-accredited AAPs on staff here at Corporate One, respectively.

These live webinars, three about EMV and a three-part series on Same Day ACH, were then made available to members in our Member Resource Center. We also worked with our regional payments association partner, EPCOR, and together we produced four new on-demand training webinars on ODFI basics and operations.

Additionally, we offered a special discount on our world-class cards program in connection with the EMV liability shift, which officially took effect on October 1. With this promotion, which is still available for you, we offered to cover the costs of new EMV cards for cardholders, valued at a savings of anywhere from $30,000 - 100,000 in card re-issuance fees.

Along with addressing Same Day ACH and EMV, we also added 14 new educational webinars on a variety of credit union hot topics to the Member Resource Center, and we created a brand new investments webinar library to help you learn about all of the investment options available to your credit union. Stay tuned for more on-demand webinars being created and added to the Member Resource Center in 2016.

Looking forward to 2016

We’re looking forward to this New Year and all of the ways we can continue to provide value and support to our members. Should you ever need to contact me personally, you don’t have to wait for an event. Feel free to contact me directly at
