This time of year inspires us to reflect on the importance of community and the collective spirit of giving back. As a proud member of an industry committed to service and community citizenship, Corporate One wholeheartedly supports opportunities to step up and give back.

This year, we are incredibly proud of the many ways we’ve come together to give back to the communities we serve. From volunteering our time to supporting local organizations and initiatives, every effort reflects our commitment to making a positive impact beyond financial services. These contributions are more than just acts of kindness—they represent the heart of who we are as a credit union: people helping people.

Here are just a few highlights from this past year.

Expanding real-time crisis support

One of our most exciting projects this year was via a partnership with the League of Credit Unions & Affiliates (formerly LSCU) Foundation. Corporate One made a generous donation to the creation of the Credit Union Impact Foundation’s new Disaster Relief Vehicle. This well-equipped vehicle will help deliver rapid support and on-the-ground assistance directly to credit union employees, members, and families after storms, floods, and other emergencies.

This project perfectly captures the essence of the credit union philosophy—channeling our collective compassion into proactive support, ready to care for people when vulnerability is at its peak. You can learn more about this project via The League Insider’s announcement.

Making a difference near and far

In addition to monetary donations, Corporate One actively engaged in philanthropic initiatives. Halfway around the world, a non-profit school in rural Nepal, Jagat Kumari Academy, received five laptops on behalf of Corporate One. The academy was founded by the father of Prashanta Pradhan, Corporate One’s EVP, Chief Information Officer. Prashanta delivered the laptops to the school in person, and they are already making a difference, helping students access digital learning and giving teachers tools to enrich instruction. For this community, technology is transformational, and this gift was more than a donation.

Closer to home in Columbus, Ohio, team members from our Member Engagement Department participated in the Ronald McDonald House Charities Team Cuisine Meal Program. They sponsored and served a meal to the guest families at the Columbus Ronald McDonald House.

Our Young Professionals Group once again participated in My Very Own Blanket, a nonprofit committed to providing a blanket to every youth entering foster care each year. This volunteer opportunity and ministry provides a gift that is comforting and familiar, and youth in foster care can take with them from one home to another.

In Jacksonville, Florida, Corporate One staff members collected food to support Mandarin Presbyterian Church’s Daily Bread Food Pantry. The church held a campaign to provide Thanksgiving meals to people in need, and Corporate One gathered four large boxes of Thanksgiving favorites – stuffing, cranberry sauce, mac and cheese, green bean casserole, and rolls – as well as five frozen turkeys to support the campaign.

Corporate One also continued our annual participation in the Salvation Army’s “Angel Tree” program during December. The Angel Tree program provides new clothing or toys for children of needy families through the support of donors. Found in local companies and corporations, Angel Trees are decorated with numbered paper angel tags with the first name, age, and gender of a child in need of presents. Contributors remove one or more tags from the tree and purchase appropriate gifts for the child or children described on the tags. This year, Corporate One lit up our Christmas tree with 181 golden tags.

At Corporate One, giving back isn't just a seasonal activity; it's an ongoing commitment that strengthens the very fabric of the neighborhoods where we live and work. Thank you to our team members and our credit union family for creating meaningful change throughout the year.
