Dear Members:
One of the credit union movement's greatest strengths has always been the trust it earns from members. That trust is built through competitive products, attractive rates, and quality service, but it goes deeper than any single offering. At its core, trust grows when members feel understood, valued, and confident that their financial institution is listening to their needs.
In today's environment, that commitment to listening is more important than ever. Member expectations continue to evolve as technology advances, financial habits shift, and new competitors enter the market. Credit unions that remain closely connected to their members are best positioned to adapt, innovate, and continue delivering meaningful value. In many ways, listening has become a strategic advantage.
That member-centered approach is a key reason credit unions continue to stand apart. The J.D. Power 2026 U.S. Credit Union Satisfaction Study found that credit unions scored 68 points higher than the overall U.S. retail banking average in customer satisfaction. While many factors contribute to that distinction, one principle remains consistent: successful organizations actively seek to understand the people they serve.
At Corporate One, we’ve embraced that philosophy for many years. We gather member feedback through our Peer Councils, Voice of the Member events, meetings, and industry gatherings. The insights we receive through these channels do more than measure our performance. They deepen our understanding of members’ needs and help shape our direction.
A defining characteristic of the cooperative model is that every member has a voice. That is why our annual membership survey is so important. It provides one of our most comprehensive opportunities to hear directly from you, understand what we are doing well, identify where we can improve, and incorporate your perspectives into Corporate One’s planning and decision-making.
One lesson has held true throughout my career: organizations create the most value when they listen with intent and act with purpose. Feedback is more than information. It guides decisions, reveals emerging needs, uncovers new opportunities, and helps ensure resources are directed where they can have the greatest impact.
Our annual membership survey will arrive in October. If you're in the group that receives the survey, please take a few moments to participate. Your voice matters. Your feedback helps shape Corporate One’s future, strengthens the value we create together, and keeps us focused on what matters most: helping credit unions thrive today and for years to come.
